background

As part of the annual “Retro Round”, the Geelong Cats of the AFL put together an extensive marketing campaign that included a set of three Tradable Bits campaigns. Not only is the design clean and nostalgic of a by-gone era, but it is cohesive across all of their marketing materials, telling a unique story of the club's past.

Using Tradable bits, geelong created:

Retro Memory Match: Using retro themed player cards and a prize incentive for fans. These payer cards were also paired with physical copies fans could purchase.

Retro Photo Frame: letting fans upload images to create their own retro player cards to share digitally.

Retro Personalized Playlist: With recommended songs and the ability to let fans customize their own playlist, Geelong took a campaign typically reserved for the music world to let fans showcase their personality and listening behaviour.

For this year’s Best Campaign Design, Geelong took it beyond simply making things pretty, immersing fans in a storied past and riding that excitement to drive engagement. Congrats!
