University of Florida Raises the Stakes with New Campaign

In the midst of an impressive season, the Florida Gators provided thousands of fans the chance to attend a game at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium for only $10.

Goal: Invite Fans to Experience Gators Football Firsthand

UF Athletics wanted to provide a unique opportunity for Gators fans during the 2018 football season. What better experience than to attend a game at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium at a discounted price! They also wanted to collect data about who was interested in their games, so they could identify high-quality leads, while also increasing attendance at their games for new fans.

Solution: Season-Long Sweepstakes Campaign for Fans

Through an Entry Form campaign, the Gators crafted a season-long contest, inviting fans to enter in the days leading up to each Gators home game. Their “Swampstakes” campaign provided thousands of Gators fans with the opportunity to win. Each week hundreds of winners were given the option to purchase a $10 ticket to attend a game in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

Hosted on the Gators website, the campaign earned over 60K views during the season. The Gators were able to achieve their goal of capturing high-quality fan-data after having over 19K entries into their Swampstakes campaign, of which 73% subscribed for future communications. The campaign also earned over 1,000 shares on social channels, organically amplifying their message.
