Feels like this year we all hit the fast lane, doesn’t it?

2022 has been another round of chaos, velocity, and technological jumps that keep us nimble and creative. Fan engagement continues to move forward in leaps and bounds, and delightfully, we’ve seen a return to servicing the one constant in all of our days: people. Our partners have once again raised the bar when it comes to authentic, targeted and meaningful engagement this year - all while delivering their own commercial partnership commitments.

All that said, below are some of our favourite digital engagements and partnership activations for the year (in no particular order). Feast your eyes, feed your minds and feel inspired.

5. Dreamville Sweepstakes

Dreamville’s promotion team used the Tradable Bits Entry/RSVP form as the glue behind a promotion that echoed the same aura as the festival itself; a priceless once-in-a-lifetime experience. Their team put together an experience-driven prize package that consisted of 2 MVP VIP tickets, meet and greet passes, a 3-night hotel stay at The Renaissance, restaurant gift cards, and gas vouchers. In a word, a “Staycation” their fans would never forget.

Simple fan entry and clean integration of festival creative makes this campaign truly shine!

4. Austin City Limits VR Tower

There’s pre-sale, on-sale, offseason, etc...but let’s not forget about in-venue activations. Austin City Limits and Snapchat executed our AR Tower to perfection, letting fans snap fun pics with custom snapchat filters overlaid in real-time. After getting the right shot fans were prompted to scan a QR code which would allow them to share it directly from their Snapchat account. Even better, the QR code led to an AR map of the festival showing where they were and how to get around to the various stages. A super playful activation which not only helped uncover valuable fan info but enhanced the in-venue experience for festival goers.

3. OCESA / Corona Capital Waitlist

Sustainability and longevity is the name of the game here. In partnership with Tradable Bits, OCESA decided on building a “Waitlist” campaign for the 2022 Corona Capital festival, where fans could opt-in to receive relevant information about the sold-out festival and future ticket drops. Within three days, tens of thousands of fans used the form to sign up and opt-in to future ad-hoc communication - with no signs of slowing down.

This future-oriented campaign will allow OCESA to scale their festival for years to come.

2. Rare Americans Pre-save Campaign

Engagements are often a way to showcase to your fans what kind of artist you are, and Rare Americans album pre-save campaign is a great example. They used Tradable Bits Spotify integration to allow fans to seamlessly pre-save their upcoming album, but what makes this campaign special is how they used their platform for good. To help drive engagement they pledged to donate $1 for every pre-save, and an additional $1 for any T-shirt bought directly from their merch site (which they discounted to $15). The charity was closely tied to much of the music the band makes (anti-bullying) which made for an incredibly cohesive campaign with a meaning fans could get behind.

1. Secret Sounds Lil Nas X Pre-sale Entry Form

Using our waitlist campaign, our Aussie partners to the south, Secret Sounds, decided to reward eager and loyal fans with an opt-in for pre-sale access to Lil Nas' upcoming tour. A simple way to grow their email communication list while offering something of value to their fans. Simple and easy to enter with direct Spotify integration and a seamless design makes this campaign a prime example of how to do fan engagement with low lift/high reward.

Well, that's all for 2022! We know it's only onward and upwards from here, and we can't wait to see what the next 12 months in fan marketing brings us.
